The two superhero’s actually did go on dates in the comics but it wasn’t truly a meaningful thing for him as it was very much so for Jessica. As far as the relation between the two goes I always look at that moment seeing that she in fact really liked him maybe in fact loved him to set aside everything. This I believe was a very significant moment for Jessica since she did something so heroic - not just saving Barry Allen’s life but also ignoring her anxiety for that moment which is very powerful in many ways. At this moment Jessica Cruz’s power ring turns to an actual Lantern ring giving her, her life back. An overwhelming emotion kicks in and she overthrows Volthoom’s power and saves Barry Allen at the cost of her own life. From one particular comic in which Jessica is trapped in the realm of the power ring as Volthoom possesses her body, the scarlet speedster is being chased by the black racer hoping to kill him however Jessica see’s that there is something that must be done and she had to let go of her fear to do it. Jessica Cruz has never not been open in her thoughts to having a relationship with Barry Allen.
